{"id":6747,"date":"2020-02-03T09:44:51","date_gmt":"2020-02-03T14:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sim-pilot.com\/?p=6747"},"modified":"2020-02-03T09:44:51","modified_gmt":"2020-02-03T14:44:51","slug":"mariners-workshop-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sim-pilot.com\/en\/mariners-workshop-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Mariners&#8217; Workshop 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, January 30th, CLSLP pilot Captain Pascal Rh\u00e9aume and CHS representative Jonathan Morin presented a summary and progress report of the new S-102 standards project at the 2020 Mariners\u2019 Workshop.<\/p>\n<p>As previously announced on November 5, the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) wishes to promote the implementation of the new S-100 standards to provide mariners with access to additional information (bathymetry, surface currents and water levels) and greater versatility in the display of these data. The project is being carried out in a joint effort with the collaboration of WSP, the Corporation of Lower St. Lawrence Pilots, the Maritime Simulation and Resource Centre and navigation software provider Sakhalin (SEA<em>iq<\/em> Pilot).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the maritime community was pleasantly surprised with the very promising sea trial results using this ground-breaking data.
