Minister Jean D’Amour Highlights the Maritime Simulation and Resource Centre’s 10th Anniversary

10 January 2013

October 2, 2015 – The Minister of Transport and Implementation of the Maritime Strategy and Minister responsible for the Lower St. Lawrence Region, Mr. Jean D’Amour, yesterday marked the 10th anniversary of the Maritime Simulation and Resource Centre (MSRC), a division of the Corporation of Lower St. Lawrence Pilots.

He began by praising the centre’s expertise in training apprentice pilots and the continuous development of St. Lawrence pilots: “Becoming a pilot on the St. Lawrence River does not happen overnight. This is a complex task, requiring specialized training, as offered by the MSRC. Thanks to this, thanks to you, navigation on the St. Lawrence is safe year-round, regardless of weather conditions. Your role is important, especially in the context of implementing the Maritime Strategy.”
