Nearly $328M Invested in Bécancour to Redevelop Its Port

16 December 2025

The Société du parc industriel et portuaire de Bécancour (SPIPB) will undertake a major redevelopment of its port to meet the growing needs of companies located in the industrial park. The project represents a total investment of nearly $328 million, funded equally by the federal government—through Transport Canada’s National Trade Corridors Fund—and the provincial government.

For this project, SPIPB’s management enlisted the Maritime Simulation and Resource Centre (MSRC) to conduct a series of simulations aimed at assessing the impacts on vessel maneuvering, in collaboration with pilots from the Corporation of Mid St. Lawrence Pilots (CPSLC).
