The APA calls on the MSRC for apprentice pilot training on the principles of ship handling

Several pilotage authorities and shipowners rely on the MSRC to train their apprentice pilots and future captains in the principles of ship handling. This training program provides candidates with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of ship handling. Through hands-on simulator exercises, participants develop the skills and abilities required to manoeuvre vessels WITHOUT TUG ASSISTANCE.

Lasting four days, each participant has their own navigation bridge, allowing them to maximize their hands-on practice time. Their instructor, Captain Marc-André Fortin, is an experienced pilot with the Corporation des pilotes du Bas Saint-Laurent inc..
