Mrs. Gréta Bédard, CEO of the Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ), and the STQ management committee recently visited the Maritime Simulation and Resource Centre (MSRC). “We received a very warm welcome from the staff and appreciated their extensive know-how. We were also able to test our manoeuvring skills on some of our ships! We quickly realized how complex the day-to-day work of our navigation officers can be” confided Mrs. Bédard.

The Société des traversiers du Québec plays a key role for the Ministère des transports et de la mobilité durable du Québec (MTMD) in all aspects of marine passenger transportation and the maintenance of port infrastructures, and is often called upon to share its expertise in projects involving several regional partners. The MSRC has been collaborating with the STQ for several years on numerous projects and initiatives. “We are honoured by the trust this major Quebec maritime carrier places in us.” comments Paul Racicot, director of the MSRC.
