Development of ship model of a custom pusher tug ship equipped with a new Z-drive

2024

Client : Ingram Barge Company & Center for Maritime Education

“In May 2024, Ingram Barge Company reached out to the Center for Maritime Education (CME) to develop a custom simulator model for a new z-drive vessel in their fleet. The CME team quickly mobilized, gathering critical information from previous owners and working closely with The Shearer Group, Inc., the vessel’s original designer.

CME objective was to add this model to its training library in time for Ingram’s 2025 training program. The mandate to develop this ship model was entrusted to the Maritime Simulation and Resource Centre (MSRC) in Quebec, Canada.

By September, CME–Houston received the model for operational testing and validation, ahead of its installation at CME–Paducah.

Special thanks to Paul Racicot, MBA and the team at the MSRC, for delivering an exceptional simulator model on time and under budget. We are grateful to The Shearer Group, Inc. for providing essential vessel documentation and expert insight in naval architecture and marine engineering.

The CME is thrilled to bring such partnerships to life and see the results of our collaborative efforts as we continue advancing maritime education.”
