Vessel simulation with new Harbour configuration – Harbour Wharves Rehabilitation Program

Year : 2024

Client : ArcelorMittal Port-Cartier

Project detail :

ArcelorMittal is considering consolidation work on the face of certain piers to its port, in Port-Cartier, Canada.

In order to verify what effect on manoeuvres the reduction in space in the manoeuvring basin will have on the evolution of the ships, ArcelorMittal has mandated the MSRC to carry out a series of berthings and unberthings in various situations likely to occur.

These manoeuvres aimed to assess whether Capesize and Newcastlemax type vessels will always have adequate safety margins during their evolution despite the reduction in space.
